Job summary

Viejas Casino & Resort is seeking an experienced Bartender III to provide upscale beverage service on a high-volume bar. You will train team members, take orders from guests and servers, and showcase expert cocktail crafting while upselling premium drinks.

A strong knowledge of wine, beer, and liquor, plus excellent guest interaction skills, are essential to succeed. You will maintain cleanliness, manage inventories, and ensure compliance with CA alcohol regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Food Handler's Certificate required.
• RASS or TIPS Certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• California Responsible Beverage Service Training and Certification required on hire.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• 5+ years of related experience and/or training.
• High volume bar experience is required.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
• Demonstrate proficiency in cash handling.
• Strong knowledge of bar operations, service procedures and function.
• Strong knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and common drink recipes.
• Ability to follow intricate drink recipes with precision.
• Ability to create a cocktail based on a guest's preferred flavor profile.
• Uses showmanship to enhance the overall guest experience.
• Outgoing, positive attitude; works well with others.
• Ability to multitask and maintain high personal grooming standards.

Responsibilities

• Takes food and beverage orders from casino floor, servers, and guests.
• Presents and describes food and drink menus in detail and answers questions.
• Upsells by upgrading to premium liquors/drinks.
• Enters orders into POS system and handles cash per policies.
• Pours and serves wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages with garnishes.
• Mixes cocktails and beverages according to recipes and guest preferences.
• Tailors drinks to guests' taste and preferences.
• Delivers orders to guests and wishes them a good meal.
• Maintains bar stock and inventory; assists with replenishment.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of bar and lounge area.
• Supports management to improve sales and reduce waste.
• Reports equipment problems and bar maintenance issues.
