Job summary

State of Colorado seeks a seasoned banking examiner to manage a caseload of commercial banks, ensuring compliance with laws and supervisory standards. You will supervise a team of at least three staff, directing examination scope and reporting, while coordinating with federal regulators to uphold public trust in Colorado’s financial institutions.

Qualifications

• Nine (9) years of professional auditing/examination experience with a domestic financial institution and/or regulator.
• Two years of formal supervisory or work-leader experience.
• Combination option with Associate or Bachelor’s degree plus required experience.
• Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day activities of assigned staff and guide performance.
• Approve ROE and related supervisory communications to ensure accuracy.
• Coordinate with federal regulators (FDIC, Federal Reserve) on examinations.
• Lead examination teams as Examiner-in-Charge (EiC) and set objectives for reviews.
• Develop and monitor examination scope, staffing, and risk-focused plans.
