Job summary

CorTrust Bank in Sioux Falls or Mitchell is seeking a Full-Time Controller to oversee accounting for the Bank and Holding Company. The ideal candidate holds a CPA and has deep GAAP knowledge, bank regulatory experience, and strong internal controls.

The role manages financial reporting, budgeting, GL maintenance, and regulatory filings (Call Report), oversees the bond portfolio, and supervises AP/AR. You will partner with the CFO and senior leadership to guide strategic planning with integrity.

Qualifications

• CPA certification required.
• Experience in a banking regulatory environment.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP.
• Preference for CFO background or accounting firm with banking experience.
• Strong emphasis on internal controls and audits.

Responsibilities

• Develop accounting policy, financial reporting, GL maintenance, budgeting and controls.
• Prepare audited financial statements for Bank and Holding Company.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and regulatory reporting including the Call Report.
• Oversee the Bank’s bond portfolio.
• Maintain oversight of AP/AR processes.
• Develop internal controls and oversee audits of procedures.
• Contribute to strategic planning with CFO and senior management.
