Job summary

Confidential Employer, a growing medical technology company, seeks an experienced accounting leader in Sioux Falls, SD. You will own the accounting and financial reporting function, lead monthly closes, and work directly with the CFO and executives to shape financial strategy and operational excellence.

You'll drive audits, strengthen internal controls, and design scalable processes to support public-company standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
• Active CPA license is required.
• 6+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience with significant audit involvement.
• Direct experience with a PCAOB-registered accounting firm or SEC-reporting company.
• Strong expertise in U.S. GAAP, technical accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience leading monthly and annual closes, audit documentation, and complex reconciliations.
• Public accounting/SEC reporting/ERP implementation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, ensuring GAAP-compliant reporting.
• Own financial statement preparation, GL accuracy, reconciliations, and management reporting.
• Primary accounting contact for external auditors, manage audits and issue resolution.
• Research and document technical accounting matters (revenue, inventory, leases, acquisitions).
• Design and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and scalable reporting processes.
• Drive ERP improvements, financial systems optimization, and data integrity.
• Build and lead the accounting function while remaining hands-on in critical activities.
• Collaborate with executive leadership on financial planning and strategic initiatives.
