Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Ballistician to support design, analysis, testing, and evaluation of next-generation solid rocket motor technologies. You will provide ballistic and energetic analysis to inform motor design, manufacturing, testing, and performance.

The role requires a Bachelor's or Master’s in a related field, 4+ years in ballistics or engineering analysis, and proficiency with MATLAB/Python/C++/Fortran. Eligibility for a Secret security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
• Experience with energetics performance analysis and data analysis.
• Experience with solid rocket motors, ballistics, or engineering design/analysis.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform ballistic analysis to predict, validate, and improve solid rocket motor and propellant performance.
• Develop, refine, and validate computational methods and ballistic analysis tools.
• Analyze test data and use results to guide future designs.
• Support energetic material characterization, testing, and modeling.
• Support failure investigations, failure analysis, and production deviation resolution.
• Collaborate with systems, design, and manufacturing teams to meet performance and manufacturability requirements.
• Prepare and present technical results and program findings to internal, government, and commercial customers.
