Job summary

IFF is a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients, and health & biosciences. We seek a Senior Bakery Application Scientist to lead innovative bakery ingredient applications from concept through commercialization, based on-site in New Century, Kansas.

You will work with enzyme systems, hydrocolloids, emulsifiers, proteins, and texturants to deliver customer-focused solutions, partner with Operations, Sales, and Product teams, and travel up to 40% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Bakery Science, or related discipline.
• 10+ years in R&D, Product Development, Technical Service, or Applications Development in bakery.
• Strong technical expertise in bakery systems and ingredient functionality.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of innovative bakery applications using enzymes, hydrocolloids, emulsifiers, proteins, and inclusions.
• Develop technical solutions from bench to pilot plant to commercial-scale production.
• Collaborate with Operations to optimize formulations and manufacturing performance.
• Drive growth by partnering with Sales, Marketing, and Product Line Management.
• Create concepts, prototypes, and demonstrations for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Provide expertise in ingredient functionality, product development, and cost optimization.
