Job summary

Valiant Harbor International, LLC seeks a Full-Stack Software Engineer to support USAF programs at Hanscom AFB. You will develop secure backend services, APIs, and enterprise integrations in Linux-based environments, collaborating with Air Force engineers to deliver mission-critical software.

Responsibilities include scalable REST APIs, secure software practices, and continuous improvement of tooling in a hybrid, full-time role.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance required; eligible for Top Secret with SCI
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related STEM
• 7–10 years of professional software engineering experience
• Full-stack experience designing secure backend services, APIs, and enterprise integrations
• Experience integrating multiple software systems within enterprise or mission-critical environments
• Proficiency with Java in Linux/Unix environments
• Experience with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, cloud tech, modern Java frameworks, or enterprise integration tech
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Willingness to travel as required

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure backend software applications and services using Java
• Build scalable REST APIs and enterprise integrations
• Develop software to enable reliable communication between systems and data sources
• Work in Linux/Unix environments and support deployment in secure government networks
• Collaborate with Air Force stakeholders to translate mission needs into technical solutions
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following modern software engineering practices
• Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
• Troubleshoot backend, integration, and performance issues across distributed systems
• Support secure software development and DevSecOps throughout the lifecycle
• Contribute to shared libraries, tools, and engineering processes
• Stay current with emergent technologies and recommend improvements
