Placements24 is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer for a hybrid role in Paarl, Western Cape. You will design, develop, and deploy robust backend systems powering our ecommerce platform, collaborating with frontend, product, and stakeholders.

Bring scalable architectures, microservices, and database expertise to a fast-growing startup. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in backend development, strong API design skills, and experience with cloud platforms and containers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of backend experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (Python/Java/Node.js/Go).
• Strong experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL, MongoDB).
• Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
