About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join their distributed team, supporting operations with a primary focus on their presence in Paarl . This role is critical for streamlining development and operations processes, enhancing system reliability, scalability, and performance. You will be instrumental in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure, and ensuring the security and efficiency of our cloud environments. The ideal candidate is passionate about automation, infrastructure as code, and fostering a culture of collaboration between development and operations teams, working remotely with flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment and infrastructure provisioning.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) for cost-efficiency and performance.
• Implement and enforce security best practices across all environments.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth integration, deployment, and operational readiness of applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, System Administration, or Software Engineering roles.
• Strong proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) and scripting languages (Bash, Python).
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
