Job summary

Rippling is seeking a hands-on Senior Backend Engineer to help build and scale Rippling's security program. You will design and implement services, APIs, and platform primitives that power essential workflows across our multi-product platform.

In this role you’ll work on permissions, policy enforcement, approvals, payments, device and app management, procurement, auditability, and secure handling of sensitive workforce and financial data.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production experience with Python, Go, or similar
• Deep expertise in distributed systems and relational databases
• Strong CS fundamentals and cross-functional delivery skills

Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services and APIs powering core product capabilities
• Build secure, scalable systems for high-volume workflows (spend, IT, identity, access, approvals)
• Contribute to architecture, data modeling, and performance optimization
• Collaborate with product, frontend, platform, design, and cross-functional teams
• Evolve systems for workflows, permissions, and security controls
