PayPal is seeking a senior software engineer toOwn the full software development lifecycle across core payments platforms. You will guide junior engineers, advise management on project issues, and deliver scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and collaboration with product teams to refine requirements and ensure robust, reliable services across global markets.

Qualifications

• 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor's and/or Master's in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
• Experience mentoring and developing engineers in a distributed systems environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical issues clearly.
• Experience operating distributed applications 24x7x365 and building scalable services.

Responsibilities

• Delivers complete solutions spanning all phases of the SDLC (design, implement, test, deliver, operate).
• Advises management on project-level issues.
• Guides junior engineers.
• Operates with minimal supervision and makes technical decisions based on internal conventions and best practices.
• Collaborates with product managers to refine requirements and ensures high-quality, operable solutions.
