Job summary

The Matlen Silver Group, Inc. seeks a Senior Backend Python Developer to join a Global Markets Surveillance program in the New York/Jersey City area.

You’ll design and implement robust backend services, REST APIs, and data processing components in Python, aligning with enterprise-grade security and regulatory requirements. The role emphasizes migration of legacy platforms, cross-functional collaboration with product, compliance, risk and tech teams, and delivering scalable backend solutions for

Qualifications

Strong hands-on Python development experience.
Experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful services.
Backend engineering experience with relational and object databases.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and enhance backend applications and services using Python.
Build and maintain REST APIs supporting global markets supervisory and surveillance capabilities.
Contribute to migration and consolidation of functionality from legacy platforms.
Develop functionality for alerts, surveillance workflows, monitoring, and supervisory processes.
Collaborate with technology, product, compliance, risk, and business stakeholders.
Support frontend teams with reliable backend services and APIs.
Work with relational and object databases and participate in platform modernization.
Investigate production issues and support requests.
