Job summary

WEX seeks a Senior Development/Operations Engineer to join the Connected Fleet team. You will design and develop scalable web and back-end applications, delivering seamless customer experiences for large fleets.

Responsibilities include building REST APIs in Python/Node, implementing automated testing, driving performance improvements, and mentoring peers through code reviews. You’ll work with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud services to ensure reliability and security.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Backend development with strong Python/Node.js/Go/C++ and RESTful APIs.
• Cloud-native environments and container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes) experience.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases and event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable web and back-end applications.
• Develop public REST APIs using Python and Node for inter-service communication.
• Implement automated testing strategies (unit, integration, end-to-end, load).
• Drive scalability, performance, and reliability improvements across services.
• Develop automation frameworks for CI/CD, monitoring, and deployment.
