Job summary

Archer in San Jose is seeking a Senior Staff Backend Engineer to power the Platform Core team. You will build services that drive the Entity Registry, change tracking, and connectors, with a focus on Go and PostgreSQL, delivering durable infrastructure for application teams.

You will design typed APIs, implement event patterns, optimize queries, and collaborate across platforms to ensure production readiness and scalable, observable systems that support AI-assisted workflows.

Qualifications

• 10+ years backend engineering experience.
• Strong Go experience and willingness to work in Go.
• Deep PostgreSQL schema design and performance tuning.
• Experience with distributed systems and APIs/SDKs.
• Cloud-native infrastructure (AWS) experience.
• Proficiency in reliability patterns and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain core backend services (Go preferred).
• Design scalable systems using IPC mechanisms and durable APIs.
• Develop typed service contracts and APIs (gRPC/REST).
• Optimize PostgreSQL performance and schemas.
• Implement authentication, authorization, rate limiting, and audit logging.
• Collaborate with platform teams and support production use cases.
• Enable AI-assisted workflows with clean, structured APIs.
