Job summary

State Street in Austin seeks multiple Senior Software Engineers to join the Wealth Custody & Clearing tech organization. You will design, build, test, and support modern software across the wealth custody and clearing platform, focusing on scalable backend services and API-driven functionality.

You will work in a fast-paced, highly regulated enterprise environment, delivering resilient, production-grade solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; commensurate experience considered.
• 7+ years of software engineering or backend experience with increasing responsibility.
• Experience delivering business-critical applications in Agile environments.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Kotlin, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript or similar.
• RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems, event-driven architectures.
• Cloud-enabled development, CI/CD, DevOps, automated testing, and modern tooling.
• Relational/NoSQL databases, observability tools, monitoring and performance optimization.
• Docker, Kubernetes, cloud deployment experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise-grade software for Wealth Custody & Clearing platform.
• Build scalable backend services, APIs, integrations, and platform capabilities.
• Develop cloud-enabled, API-first solutions with secure coding practices.
• Collaborate with Product/Architecture/Risk/Operations to translate requirements into solutions.
• Contribute to design reviews, engineering standards, and platform delivery decisions.
• Support integration with external fintech, custody, and market infrastructure providers.
• Ensure performance, resiliency, security, observability, data integrity, and readiness.
• Participate in Agile delivery: estimation, sprints, testing, deployment, support.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster engineering excellence.
