Job summary

AssureSoft is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to own large backend systems, design scalable solutions, and lead technical decisions. You will mentor junior engineers, ensure code quality, and collaborate with product teams to translate business goals into technical action.

You will design secure, high‑performance APIs and microservices in the Spring ecosystem, and leverage cloud and AI-assisted tooling to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with substantial backend development.
• Advanced Java knowledge, strong OO, concurrency, collections, performance.
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring / Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and building microservices and distributed backend systems.
• Strong experience designing and maintaining REST APIs and third‑party integrations.
• Relational database knowledge including schema design, SQL, and performance (MySQL preferred).
• Experience with ORM technologies such as JPA/Hibernate.
• Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
• Experience with automated testing and code-quality practices.
• Hands-on experience with AI code assistants like Claude Code and Codex.
• Experience in Agile environments and practical cloud experience, preferably AWS.
• Strong debugging and root-cause-analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end technical ownership of backend systems, features, and integrations.
• Translate ambiguous business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Lead architecture discussions and influence framework decisions.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Design and maintain REST APIs and microservices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with product and stakeholders to shape solutions.
