Job summary

ID.me in Mountain View, CA is hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer to design and build the next-generation SaaS Commerce Platform and Developer Ecosystem. You will implement APIs powering merchant onboarding, identity-gated offers, and OAuth 2.0 access flows on a scalable, secure backend.

This on-site role at ID.me's Mountain View office requires collaboration with Staff and Principal engineers to deliver reliable, developer-friendly APIs forming the commerce ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years of backend software engineering experience with API development for customer-facing products.
• 5+ years in one or more modern languages (Java, Ruby, Go, Python) with RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
• Understanding of API design, versioning, and contract-first development.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), IaC tools (Terraform), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, or SAML; monitoring/observability tooling.

Responsibilities

• Platform Development: implement and maintain Merchant, Resource, Discount, and UseCase API endpoints as core primitives.
• Developer Experience: deliver onboarding flows and API documentation for external merchants and developers.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with multiple platform teams to ensure consistency and best practices.
