Job summary

Databricks is seeking a backend-focused software engineer to help build infrastructure for the Databricks platform at scale. You will join teams spanning OS/container systems, serverless infrastructure, and machine learning tooling to advance the platform’s reliability and performance.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in CS or related field with 5+ years in Java, Scala, Golang, or C++, and proven experience with large-scale distributed systems, SaaS platforms, cloud stacks (AWS/Azure/GCP), Kubernetes,

Qualifications

BS in CS or related field.
5+ years of production level experience in one of: Java, Scala, Golang, C++, or similar language.
Experience developing large-scale distributed systems.
Experience working on a SaaS platform or with Service-Oriented Architectures.
Experience with cloud technologies, e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP, or Kubernetes.
Experience with security and systems that handle sensitive data.

Responsibilities

Serverless platform: Build Databricks serverless platform that powers the big data, machine learning and Gen AI workloads.
Core cloud platform: Build OS, container and networking tech that power the Databricks infrastructure.
Partner ecosystem: Build toolkits to support partners and customers’ deep integrations with Databricks.
Notebook dataplane: Improve multi-language, multi-user collaborative notebooks with reliability.
Application platform: Enhance scale, observability, and safety across clouds while improving developer experience.
