PayPay Card is seeking senior backend engineers to build and rebuild rock solid services with a strong focus on scalability and maintainability. You will help revolutionize the credit card experience and re-architect our systems to power a top-notch user experience within the PayPay ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Experience in OOP languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, C#, Scala) and distributed systems.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and OOP.
• Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL databases; distributed cache.
• Business-level English or Japanese.
• Degree in Computer Engineering/CS or 5+ years SaaS platform development.

Responsibilities

• Design, support the implementation and deliver large scale, and complex, systems.
• Manage stakeholders such as product managers and frontend engineers.
• Leverage the infrastructure to solve large scale problems.
• Act as a gatekeeper to the team quality standards.
• Triage, debug and resolve product issues and inquiries.
• Mentor team members and protect development quality.
