Job summary

Syndio is hiring a Senior or Staff Backend Engineer for our core platform engineering team to design, build, and scale high-throughput distributed systems powering our core backend services. You will own systems end-to-end—from API design and data modeling to deploying resilient infrastructure and monitoring performance in production.

In this role, you will design, ship, and operate microservices in Go and Python, build real-time data pipelines with Kafka, and craft performant APIs across REST,

Qualifications

• 7+ years building and operating backend systems in production.
• Experience with Go and Python backend development.
• Strong experience with relational databases and ORMs.

Responsibilities

• Design, ship, and operate core distributed microservices powering backend systems.
• Build real-time data pipelines using Kafka.
• Architect performant APIs across REST, GraphQL, and gRPC.
• Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP using Terraform and CI/CD with GitHub Actions.
• Ensure reliability and observability with Datadog.
• Lead features end-to-end within 90 days and take on-call responsibilities.
• Collaborate with platform engineering and cross-team partners.
