First Circle is a fast-growing, multi-product NeoBank focused on SME credit in SE Asia, expanding internationally. We hire senior developers to impact growth while building in-house, scalable systems.

The role emphasizes backend excellence, architectural input, and resilient production services in a dynamic fintech context. Primarily remote, with optional offices in select locations; generous tech setup and travel opportunities to SE Asia.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and operating production backend systems in Kotlin, Java, or Ruby.
• Strong foundations in API design, relational databases, and data modeling.
• Experience in a startup fintech/payments environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve backend services and APIs that are fast, reliable, and easy to change.
• Take features from idea to production: shape with product/design, ship, measure, and iterate.
• Help with architectural decisions and write clear technical proposals.
• Keep services running smoothly with monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
• Review code, mentor teammates, and share knowledge.
• Collaborate across product, design, and business to translate needs into tech solutions.
