Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for a fully remote engineering team. You will architect and develop robust, scalable backend systems powering our platform, including APIs and databases, while leading a team of engineers in a remote-first environment.

The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Node.js, Python, Go, or Java, with strong database design experience (SQL/NoSQL) and cloud proficiency across AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Extensive backend development experience building large-scale systems.
• Strong experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js, Python, Go, or Java.
• Architect and implement robust database solutions (SQL and NoSQL).
• Develop and manage microservices architecture and related infrastructure.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate server-side logic.
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code following best practices.
• Implement security and data protection measures.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend applications for speed and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Mentor junior backend engineers and contribute to engineering culture.
