Job summary

Dahl Consulting is seeking a Development Engineer for a remote, 6-month contract. Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot, with microservices and REST APIs in distributed systems.

You will implement event-driven work with Kafka, interact with SQL/NoSQL databases, and deploy in AWS. Expect strong code review, CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, and collaboration in an Agile team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong Java or Kotlin with Spring Boot proficiency.
• Experience designing scalable microservices and REST APIs.
• Kafka or similar event streaming experience.
• Relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB).
• Cloud deployment and operations (AWS preferred).
• Docker and Kubernetes with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Production support, monitoring, and incident response.
