Alma is building the payment infrastructure of tomorrow, designing APIs and backend components to power payments for thousands of merchants and millions of consumers across Europe.

We value reliable, secure fintech infrastructure and expect 8+ years in backend engineering, strong Python skills, and fluency in French with English. This role offers end-to-end ownership of architecture and reliability, in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend engineering on large-scale systems
• Strong proficiency in Python and relational databases
• Fluency in French with a solid level of English
• Methodical with strong communication and problem-solving skills in a cross-functional environment
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field

Responsibilities

• Design and develop APIs and backend components powering payments for thousands of merchants and millions of consumers in Europe
• Write maintainable production-grade code meeting high standards of a regulated company processing billions of euros
• Shape our technical architecture in collaboration with Product and other tech leaders
• Own reliability end-to-end by leading incident response and performance improvements for scale
