Job summary

Twin Health is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team and build scalable backend services using Spring Boot, REST APIs, and SQL databases. You will own integration with scheduling systems, EMRs, and clinical tools to support our operations and member experience.

You will work closely with AI, mobile, and clinical teams, ensure HIPAA compliance, and design event-driven architectures. This is a remote role based in the U.S. with occasional travel to Menlo Park for planning workshops.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM-related field (Master’s preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong understanding of API design (REST, OAuth/JWT) and third‑party API integrations.
• Hands-on experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience integrating with third‑party healthcare tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and maintain backend services using Spring Boot, REST APIs, and SQL databases.
• Architect and build scalable integrations with third‑party systems (scheduling software, EMRs, and other healthcare tools).
• Develop AI-powered tools and agents to streamline administrative tasks and clinical workflows.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance, security, and reliability in integrations.
• Implement event-driven architectures for real-time communications.
