$170,000.00/yr - $220,000.00/yr

This role is 100% remote, working at a Series A AI startup.

Job details:

• Location: Remote (United States - prefer EST or CST time zone but open to any time zone for the right candidate)
• Compensation: $170–220K base + equity (0.5–0.7%)
• Employment Type: Full-time

We’re working with a stealthy, fast-moving legal AI startup that’s making major strides in modernizing enterprise law firms' deal processes through powerful backend infrastructure and cutting-edge AI integration. With over $1M ARR in the last five months, Series A funding, and an elite team of 20 (including 9 engineers), they’re now hiring Senior Backend Engineers to expand their core product capabilities.

Tech Stack includes Golang, Postgres, GCP, Kubernetes, React, Temporal, GitOps, ArgoCD, OpenAI, Anthropic.

Ideal Background

• 5–10 years of experience as a backend or backend-heavy fullstack engineer
• Strong experience with Golang in production
• Startup experience preferred, ideally at a company with a progression from mid to senior to staff roles within ~3 years per level
• Preferably from a top university (e.g., U.S. Top 50 overall)
• Based in EST or CST time zones preferred, but flexible

Not a Fit If

• Frontend-heavy or frontend-only engineers
• Only large-company experience with no startup/small team exposure
• Consulting/outsourced backgrounds (e.g., Infosys, Capgemini, etc.)
• Bootcamp-only education or less than 3 years experience
