Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a track record of owning and shipping production systems.
• Strong proficiency in a backend language (Go, Python, Java, or similar).
• Experience building and operating distributed systems.
• Familiarity with modern cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP).
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform or similar).
• Ability to design systems end-to-end.
• Product intuition and ability to think beyond implementation.
• Strong cross-functional instincts.
• High ownership and accountability.
• Clear communication and strong opinions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core services that power BaseOS.
• Make foundational decisions on system design and data models.
• Work in Golang and Python across backend systems.
• Develop workflow systems using tools like Temporal.
• Use Terraform and modern cloud platforms to build reliable systems.
• Partner closely with hardware and deployments to solve problems.
• Move quickly and make decisions with imperfect information.
