Job summary

Base is building BaseOS, the operating system for a modern power company. As a senior, staff, or principal engineer on this team, you will define how the system works, make architectural calls, and own end-to-end critical services powering thousands of distributed batteries and real-world deployments.

You will operate with minimal oversight on high-stakes problems, write in Go/Python, work across backend systems and infrastructure, and mentor other engineers while shaping the technical direction

Qualifications

• 6+ years building production systems
• Backend languages Go/Python/Java
• Experience with distributed systems in production

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve core services BaseOS at scale and ensure reliability, performance, and long-term direction
• Set architecture and standards across teams for system design, data models, and service boundaries
• Program across backend and infra in Go/Python, bridging application logic with infrastructure
• Design workflows and coordination across hardware, deployments, and operations
