Job summary

Polymarket is seeking a backend/product engineer to own the core APIs and data models powering its consumer-facing product. You will work at the intersection of backend infrastructure and product, shipping primitives used by frontend, mobile, and product teams.

You will design domain APIs, build real-time gRPC/Connect services, support live data feeds and personalization, and unify fragmented services into reusable primitives while balancing debt under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Backend/product engineering experience designing domain APIs for a consumer-facing product at scale.
• Hands-on experience with gRPC/Connect and real-time streaming and event infrastructure.
• Proven track record shipping end-user features with frontend/mobile teams.
• Experience unifying fragmented services into reusable primitives.
• Ability to balance technical debt with delivery under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design core domain APIs and data models powering the consumer product.
• Build real-time infrastructure and migrations for streaming services.
• Ship end-user features in collaboration with frontend, mobile, and product teams.
• Consolidate fragmented services into cleaner primitives to speed development.
• Balance debt cleanup with new product surface areas under P0 deadlines.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers across product, infra, and data.
