Job summary

Chicory is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, to shape the tech behind a rapidly evolving adtech platform. You will own backend architecture for ad serving, OpenRTB, and SSP/DSP integrations, driving high-throughput, low-latency systems at scale while mentoring the team and aligning with business goals.

Qualifications

• 7+ years backend experience, 2+ on programmatic ads (SSPs/DSPs).
• Hands-on with OpenRTB and programmatic auctions.
• Designed, built, and operated high-throughput distributed systems.
• Instrumented systems for performance and reliability.
• Experience integrating complex external platforms and partners.
• Led major initiatives from architecture to production.

Responsibilities

• Lead backend architecture and initiatives for Chicory's programmatic platform.
• Drive complex backend projects from concept to delivery.
• Mentor backend engineers and uphold coding standards.
• Design and troubleshoot SSP/DSP integrations and auctions.
• Optimize latency-sensitive workflows and ensure reliability.
• Collaborate with Product, Campaign Management, and Eng teams.
• Review code and promote engineering best practices.
