Job summary

Computer Services, Inc. (CSI) is seeking a Software Engineer III to design, code, test, and debug backend systems using Node.js and TypeScript.

You will own large backend projects, enforce coding standards, and drive performance and scalability through modern API design and data modeling. Responsibilities include leading backend rollouts, mentoring engineers, and promoting Agile, CI/CD, and best practices to uphold high programming standards.

Qualifications

• Accredited university or equivalent training in relevant technology.
• 7+ years of Node.js and TypeScript experience with backend architecture patterns.
• Experience designing, coding, testing, debugging, maintaining and documenting programs.
• Strong understanding of API design, data modeling, performance, and scalability.
• Ownership of backend systems from development through rollout.
• Ability to enforce coding standards and best practices, esp. TypeScript and backend patterns.
• Experience with Agile processes, CI/CD, and modern delivery workflows.

Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: own development and rollout of backend systems and large projects.
• Enforce coding standards and best practices, focusing on TypeScript and backend architecture.
• Demonstrate effective project management for backend initiatives.
• Write technical specs for backend systems; assess risks, performance, and scalability.
• Coach colleagues in Node.js and TypeScript best practices; promote agile/CI/CD.
• Showcase expertise in backend development and emerging Node.js technologies.
• Apply strong knowledge of Node.js, TypeScript, async programming, API design, and data modeling.
• Provide proactive problem solving and thought leadership in backend design.
• Mentor less experienced engineers in backend engineering practices.
