Job summary

Atmosfy seeks a Senior backend engineer to help build the next generation of Atmosfy's consumer platform. You will work directly with the founder and the engineering team to design, build, and ship systems powering experiences used by millions of travelers and creators worldwide.

You will own backend services in Node.js and PHP, build and operate data and media pipelines, and help shape AI-powered features from concept to production, emphasizing reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional backend experience with strong Node.js and PHP expertise.
• Experience with Node.js/TypeScript in production, using frameworks such as Express or NestJS.
• Familiarity with PHP frameworks like Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, or similar.
• Deep relational DB knowledge (MySQL/PostgreSQL), schema design and performance tuning.
• Proven experience designing, building, and operating RESTful APIs for mobile/web clients.
• An AI-native workflow mindset; using AI tools as core parts of development.
• Version control with Git and collaborative workflows.
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to design clean server contracts.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and maintain scalable backend services powering platforms across iOS, Android, and web.
• Own core APIs end-to-end from design to production monitoring and iteration.
• Develop data and media pipelines for live video map at global scale.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to ensure stable contracts between client and server.
• Shape AI-powered consumer experiences from concept to launch.
• Improve reliability, observability, and performance of infrastructure as we scale.
• Contribute to system architecture discussions and technical decision-making.
