Job summary

Waymo is seeking a Backend Engineer to join the Booking team, designing, building, and maintaining scalable core services that power Waymo’s marketplace and autonomous ride-hailing features.

You will collaborate with mobile engineers, product managers, UX researchers, and data scientists to deliver low-latency, reliable systems and well-Architected APIs for internal and external partners.

Qualifications

• BS in CS or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of backend development experience.
• Experience building distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable core services for Waymo Marketplace front door.
• Ensure high reliability, low latency, and fault tolerance for critical infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Booking iOS & Android engineers, product managers, UX designers/researchers, and data scientists to bring features to market.
• Architect APIs and systems for internal and external partners.
