Cross Border Talents is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for our client in Lisbon, Portugal. You will develop backend applications, APIs and microservices, collaborate with product owners and QA, and help design scalable systems in a banking technology environment.

The role requires a strong background in Java 8, SpringBoot, Angular, and modern development practices. Join a hybrid Lisbon team with regular sprints and opportunities to influence architecture and coding standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 6-8 years of experience in developing backend applications.
• Proficiency in Java 8, MySQL, and SQL.
• Experience designing and implementing APIs and Microservices using SpringBoot.
• Experience developing UI using Angular.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery.
• Experience with testing using JUnit.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, unit testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.
• Experience using IDE and continuous development tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality, scalable backend solutions.
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, QA teams, and engineers.
• Design APIs and integrate UI components with APIs and databases.
• Participate in agile ceremonies to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Work with tech leads to design maintainable and robust systems.
