Job summary

HSBC in Kraków is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Messaging Delivery Platform team. You’ll design, build and operate backend services in Java/API, focusing on scalable and secure distributed systems.

You’ll collaborate with Agile teams across engineering, QA and product, applying modern tech stacks, OpenAPI, and cloud platforms. The role offers a permanent contract, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities to grow technical and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Senior experience in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience building and running services on Kubernetes.
• Practical experience with Cloud, particularly AWS.
• Strong knowledge of API design standards, patterns, and best practices including OpenAPI 3.0 / Swagger, REST, JSON, and Microservices.
• Experience with CI/CD toolchains including GitHub, Jira, Jenkins (shared libraries), Maven, and Groovy.
• Knowledge of service security including OAuth 2.0 authentication/authorisation, plus experience with Kong API Gateway.
• Solid understanding of Agile testing discipline (e.g., TDD) and strong Agile/Scrum delivery experience.
• Ability to learn new technologies and business domains quickly and apply them to real delivery challenges.
