Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Backend Software Engineer III for Java/Kafka in the Consumer and Community Banking division. You will be a core technical contributor, building scalable, secure, and trusted technology products in an agile environment.

You will design, develop, and optimize backend services, APIs, and data pipelines across cloud platforms. You will apply AI-assisted development practices, drive code quality, participate in architectural discussions, and mentor teams while supporting

Qualifications

Formal software engineering training and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on experience delivering system design and production code.
Proficiency in Java/Springboot with microservices architecture.
Experience with cloud platforms and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting.
Develops secure high-quality production code and reviews peers' work.
Drives AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Applies SDLC tools including AI-assisted development and automation.
Identifies opportunities to automate remediation for stability.
Leads evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams on architecture.
Leads communities of practice for new technologies.
