Job summary

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor’s degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Knowledge of back-end development, including Java
• Ability to develop and use APIs
• Knowledge of database software
• Knowledge of systems integration
• Knowledge of data structures
• Expertise in Java
• Experience building and deploying modern services and web applications with quality and scalability
• Interest in learning technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
• Experience collaborating with Product, Test, Dev-ops, and Agile/Scrum teams
• Ability to participate in on-call rotations and incident responses
• Ability to travel 5–10% of the time

Responsibilities

• Design code and systems influencing Visa’s standards for scalability, security, and reusability
• Collaborate cross-functionally to create design artifacts and develop software solutions
• Contribute to product quality improvements, service technology, and new business flows in agile squads
• Develop robust and scalable products for merchants, B2B, and business-to-government solutions
• Build payment technology for Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real-Time Payments, and Buy Now Pay Later
• Implement modifications to existing software code according to design specifications and security best practices
• Improve systems and tools and support new automation development and implementation
• Participate in code and design reviews, on-call rotations, and incident responses
• Analyze systems, platforms, and telemetry to identify issues in code, processes, and designs
