Job summary

Prenuvo is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer II - Data to design, build, and maintain the data foundation powering clinical products. You will develop the Medical Data Server and Python services, working with FHIR/HL7, data pipelines, and data quality tooling.

You will collaborate across clinical, product, architecture, and AI teams to ensure trustworthy data for reporting, analytics, and AI workflows. Visa sponsorship is not provided; US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Experience building production Python applications and APIs (FastAPI, Django, or Flask).
• Hands-on with data ingestion, transformation, and delivery pipelines.
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7) and interoperability challenges.
• Ability to design normalized, dimensional, and domain-oriented data models.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the Python backend services and RESTful APIs for clinical data.
• Design scalable clinical data models using FHIR and HL7, with clear boundaries across data domains.
• Develop batch and event-driven data pipelines to ingest, transform, and deliver clinical data.
• Establish automated data validation, testing, and monitoring to ensure data quality.
• Develop transformation layers and curated datasets for reporting, analytics, and AI use cases.
• Implement data governance, lineage, provenance, versioning, retention, and auditability.
