Job summary

Back Market in New York is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Appmericans squad. You will help build scalable backend services in Go and Python while contributing to frontend as needed, delivering end-to-end features for the US market.

You will collaborate with iOS and web teams, own critical services, and drive the modernization of our platform. This hybrid role requires strong ownership and a passion for quality engineering.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering with Go as primary language and Python experience
• Strong microservices architecture knowledge and high-traffic backend delivery
• Frontend contribution with modern web tech (Vue.js/TypeScript)
• Proven ability to deliver production releases with solid SDLC and testing
• Experience building observability systems and incident management

Responsibilities

• Build efficient microservices powering web and mobile experiences
• Design backend services using Go and Python for scalability and reliability
• Contribute to web frontend when needed (Vue.js/TypeScript)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and velocity
• Own squad-level technical projects with dependency management
• Build and maintain observability with Datadog and data insights with BigQuery
• Drive quality by SDLC best practices and non-disruptive releases
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident response
• Write clean code with rigorous reviews and pragmatic decisions
• Share knowledge through documentation and team discussions
