Job summary

Gismart is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build the AI orchestration platform and own the backend from day one. You’ll shape architecture, implement scalable services, and define API contracts for a global, remote-first team.

The role emphasizes ownership, performance under load, and building a robust data pipeline for media delivery. You’ll work on a new product at an early stage, influencing tech choices and paving the way for future features like AI agents and generation workflows.

Qualifications

• 4+ years backend development experience.
• Strong API design with production-grade systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Build the orchestration core across multiple AI providers with failover and retries.
• Own API contracts used by the mobile Flutter client; ensure stability and clear error handling.
• Develop media pipeline for storing and delivering generated assets (S3/CDN).
• Maintain system reliability under paid traffic spikes with observability and tracing.
• Implement usage accounting and integration with billing; ensure idempotent charging.
• Design async generation pipelines with long-running jobs, webhooks, delivery guarantees, and recovery.
