Job summary

HappyRobot in San Francisco seeks a Backend Software Engineer to own meaningful parts of our AI orchestration platform. You will design, build, and operate backend services that power our product, with ownership over infrastructure and code.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of backend experience, strong Go skills, and a product mindset. You’ll collaborate with frontend engineers, product, and founders to ship features rapidly while improving reliability and observability.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional backend software experience.
• Building scalable systems and services.
• Experience with Go in production is preferred.
• Strong understanding of APIs, data models, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services for core product.
• Improve reliability, performance, and observability.
• Work on real-time infrastructure powering voice-based AI workflows.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product, and founders.
• Ship to production frequently and iterate with customer feedback.
