Job summary

ezCater is seeking a backend-focused software engineer to build internal developer platforms, APIs and reliable distributed systems in production. You will collaborate across product, security and engineering to deliver scalable backend services using Go on AWS/GCP/Azure, Kubernetes and IaC tooling with a strong emphasis on observability and reliability.

This role supports remote-hybrid work from our Boston office or from home, offering competitive cash compensation and stock options.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building backend systems and APIs in production.
• Experience in Go.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Service mesh (Istio), Terraform (or similar IaC tools) and CI/CD systems.
• Comfort with workflow orchestration, event-driven architectures and operational complexity.
• Experience with observability tooling (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana or similar).
• Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, Flink, Kinesis).
• Experience building shared platform capabilities used by multiple teams or products.
• A strong quality mindset across CI/CD, telemetry and production ownership.

Responsibilities

• Build internal developer platforms, shared services, APIs and libraries that support integrations and core platform capabilities.
• Design reliable backend systems for cross-domain business flows and operationally critical use cases.
• Partner with product, security and engineering peers to turn ambiguous problems into well-scoped, high quality deliverables.
• Own quality through testing, observability, safe rollout practices and production issue investigation.
• Have a self-service mindset to improve developer velocity and reduce toil.
