Job summary

ezCater is seeking a backend-focused engineer to build internal developer platforms, shared services, and APIs that empower multiple product teams across the US. You will design reliable systems, partner with product and security, and own quality through testing and observability.

You will contribute to cross-functional initiatives with a strong quality mindset in a remote-hybrid setup from Boston or home, with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience delivering production-grade APIs
• Experience in Go programming language
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Istio service mesh, Terraform or similar IaC tools and CI/CD systems
• Comfort with workflow orchestration and event-driven architectures
• Experience with observability tooling (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana)
• Experience building shared platform capabilities used by multiple teams or products
• Strong quality mindset across CI/CD, telemetry and production ownership

Responsibilities

• Build internal developer platforms, shared services, APIs and libraries for integrations and core platform capabilities
• Design reliable backend systems for cross-domain business flows and critical use cases
• Collaborate with product, security and engineering to turn ambiguous problems into well-scoped deliverables
• Own quality through testing, observability, safe rollout practices and production issue investigations
• Maintain a self-service mindset to improve developer velocity and reduce toil
