Job summary
Form Energy in Weirton, WV is seeking a backend software engineer to build site control software for our field deployments. You’ll join the Plant Software team to develop and maintain systems that monitor, visualize, and control the full battery system—from plant level down to individual cells.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of production backend services or edge applications.
- Strong API design and service-oriented architectures.
- Troubleshooting complex, real-world systems.
- Collaborates with hardware, firmware, ops and data teams.
- Familiarity with Go, gRPC, Protobuf or similar protocols is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain high‑reliability backend services for real-time monitoring and control.
- Own features end‑to‑end, from requirements to production deployment and tests.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and standards enforcement.
- Provide on‑call support and field testing across installations.
- Improve observability and fail‑safe mechanisms for mission‑critical systems.
