Scribe is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer for the Docs Engineering Team in San Francisco. You will own backend features across document workflows and new greenfield projects, contributing to high-scale, reliable experiences.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in backend development with Python, a focus on performance optimization, and a strong inclination toward automated testing and engineering excellence. Hybrid work with SF office presence is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend experience at scale.
• Extensive Python experience.
• Ability to optimize endpoints and DB queries.
• Strong advocate for automated testing.
• Knowledge of engineering best practices and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship backend features in Django monoliths and new projects.
• Improve performance and reliability of critical user workflows.
• Collaborate with PMs, designers, and frontend engineers.
• Contribute to technical discussions and architectural evolution.
• Maintain code quality with reviews, tests, and observability.
