Job summary

Anduril Industries in Costa Mesa, CA, is hiring a Backend Software Engineer for the Systems Integrity Group. You will build backend services and APIs powering simulation, digital twins, and V&V automation, integrating CAD geometry, as-built data, and quality measurements with enterprise systems.

You will work with manufacturing and operations teams, implement scalable interfaces, and ensure production-ready code with tests.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience building production systems.
• Strong backend foundations in distributed systems and API design.
• Fluency with modern architectures, APIs, CI/CD, and cloud or edge infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or Rust.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• RESTful, GraphQL, or gRPC interfaces for scalable services.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker).
• Version control (Git), testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of HA, low latency, and constrained environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services orchestrating simulation frameworks and V&V pipelines.
• Develop APIs exposing results, geometry data, and simulation outputs to downstream systems.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to translate workflows into backend requirements.
• Write production-grade code with tests and participate in code reviews.
• Build integration layers for 3D CAD geometry, scans, quality data from PLM/MES/quality systems.
• Design databases for simulation results and historical V&V records.
• Implement event-driven workflows triggered by milestones or design changes.
• Deploy and operate in factory environments including edge compute and OT networks.
• Optimize performance for geometric validation, simulation orchestration, and 3D data processing.
• Create data pipelines feeding real-time production data to simulations and visualization systems.
• Leverage AI tooling to streamline development and improve practices.
• Participate in on-call rotations for production systems.
