Job summary

Axion Ray is seeking a senior Backend Engineer to own data ingestion architectures and production systems. You’ll work on onboarding data from multiple enterprise sources, design pipelines, and collaborate with product and engineering to ship reliable, scalable data flows.

You’ll deploy in Python, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes, mentor teammates, and shape the data platform roadmap. This role rewards ownership, fast iteration, and robust, observable services in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong fluency in Python for data ingestion pipelines and backend services.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems in production (Kubernetes).
• Proven ability to model relational data and optimize Postgres schemas under load.

Responsibilities

• Own technical architecture for data ingestion pipelines and schema mappings.
• Build, harden, and scale backend services and cloud infrastructure.
• Define and improve data onboarding workflows across diverse enterprise sources.
• Mentor engineers on data architecture and system design.
