Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to lead multiple teams across cloud and on‑prem deployments, ensuring scalable, secure, and reliable data‑processing workflows.

You will own roadmaps, drive architectural integrity, and mentor engineers to improve production readiness and performance. You will partner with PM, UX, and customers to translate requirements into robust platform features while upholding coding standards, CI/CD, and observability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, 7+ years experience or Master's with 4+ years.
• 4+ years developing software for distributed systems and databases and query optimization.
• 3+ years of cloud technologies experience (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• 4+ years of Python, Go/Golang AND SQL experience.
• 2+ years of experience with AI tools to drive development and testing efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical strategy and execution for multiple teams and backend/platform product areas across cloud and on-prem deployments.
• Own the technical roadmap and architectural integrity of backend services and data-processing workflows.
• Partner with Product Management, UX, Architects, and customers to resolve complex issues and deliver secure, scalable solutions.
• Mentor engineers, lead design sessions and architecture reviews to advance platform evolution.
