Job summary

Grid Dynamics is seeking a Backend/Big Data Engineer to help modernize data platforms and build backend services for large-scale analytics and AI-driven applications. You will work with Java, AWS, Kubernetes, and cutting-edge Big Data technologies to design scalable data pipelines and robust APIs.

The role emphasizes practical implementation, CI/CD practices, and collaboration within a team of industry experts on high-impact projects. Onboarding occurs in person with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Java backend development with REST services and production troubleshooting.
• Experience with Big Data analytics frameworks and data formats such as Iceberg or Lance.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of performance and scalability in distributed systems.
• Ability to design robust API solutions and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design and development of Big Data analytical applications.
• Design, support and continuously enhance the project code base and CI pipelines.
• Write complex ETL processes and frameworks for analytics and data management.
• Collaborate with a team of experts to deploy solutions at massive scale.
