Job summary

Jobtailor in Tampa, FL is seeking an experienced backend engineer to own and evolve our scalable services. You’ll build backend APIs in Java Spring Boot and Python Flask, design front-end service layers with Angular and React, and ensure robust integration with ML components in a microservices architecture.

You’ll work with Docker across AWS/GCP/Azure, contribute to security reviews, and collaborate with distributed teams in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years backend development experience with OOP, Java, Python, Docker, Linux, and SQL.
• 3–5 years cloud experience (GCP/AWS/Azure), storage/compute, Kubernetes.
• Strong REST API, API gateway, and distributed system knowledge.
• Experience building scalable AI/ML microservices with security and performance.
• Collaborative, agile team player; proficient with Jira/Rally/TFS/VersionOne.
• Bachelor/Master degree and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in technical implementation discussions balancing value, scalability, and timelines.
• Develop backend services and API integrations using Java Spring Boot and Python Flask.
• Design front-end service layers to support UI with Angular and React.
• Integrate ML components into microservices and collaborate on scalable systems.
• Utilize Docker for deployment across cloud platforms and write unit tests.
